Occasionally the contrast of aesthetics becomes stark, James Kalm was simply making his Thursday evening rounds through Chelsea, when he walked into a pair of openings that display artifacts representing disparate ends of the aesthetic spectrum. Will Kurtz "Another S--t Show" uses an academic realism translated though the humble meduim of paper mache to challenge viewers sense of propriety. B. Wurtz posits his challenges by presenting sculptural pieces constructed from the most mundane, slight and pathetic of ready made products like buttons, plastic mesh bags, wire and shoe laces.
