This video celebrates not only the exhibition of new works by James Huang but also the debut of Auxiliary Project Space in the burgeoning Bushwick/Ridgewood neighborhood. The conceptual artists Jennifer Dalton and Jennifer McCoy have teamed up to establish Auxiliary Projects as a showcase of like minded practitioners with a twist towards an institutional critique. Huang's work presents a conceptually based program where the artist returns to basic cultural texts, and attempts to fabricate everyday objects in a craft/factory mode without regard to their expected functions, in the nature of an effigy.
