Eugéne Leroy (1910-2000) is considered by many to be a prime example of a painter's painter. With a career extending over seven decades this artist, with out benefit of institutional recognition, developed a painting style using the material of pigment to embody the physical presence of light. This selection of works focuses on the most classic of subjects, the female nude, and displays Leroy's ability to capture a sense of presence within a facture that attains a level of obsession.
