Subversion in art has a long history, sometimes good, sometimes, well... Carlo McCormick has collected examples of contemporary works that play the line between commercial "fine art" production, and nasty political intervention. A particularly slippery notion is; when does subversion become subsumed by the commercial market, or radicalism become just another fad? A musical introduction "Take Off Your Shirt" by performance artist and musician Diana Joy was captured at the Josée Bienvenu Gallery as part of their events and performance program "Making Friends" organized by Sam Roeck.
