I present a special video in which we take you back to 1968, when four men from Liverpool embarked on a meditation trip to Rishikesh in the north of India.
These four men were, of course, The Beatles.

Already famous for their groundbreaking records in which they reshaped rock and roll - and possibly also reshaped the world - John, Paul, George and Ringo were constantly looking for new musical ventures. A chance meeting between George Harrison and a couple of Indian musicians on the set of the Beatles film 'Help!' in 1965, introduced George to Indian music culture.

He even bought himself a sitar, which he played on the 1965 Beatles song 'Norwegian Wood' - the first ever pop song to feature an Indian instrument.

Three years later, in February 1968, George and his fellow Beatles travelled to India after Indian meditation guru Maharishi Mahesh Yogi (pictured above; with John, George and Paul) had invited them to visit his retreat in the north of the country. What followed were two months in which The Beatles apparently found peace within themselves - before internal wars in the group took over once the Fab Four returned home.
