December 17, 2010, saw the passing of Don Van Vliet, aka rock legend Captain Beefheart. On April 6th, join us as Gary Lucas guides us in paying tribute to this great musician’s influential career. Active between 1965 and 1982 and working with his ensemble The Magic Band, Captain Beefheart twisted blues, rock, and psychedelia with avant-garde jazz and contemporary experimental styles to bring about an eclectic, near-chaotic product.
